Commercial Auto Insurance for Work Trucks and Vans
If your trucks, vans, or trailers are titled to the business, carry tools and materials, or are driven by employees, commercial auto is the policy designed for that use. It can include liability, physical damage, and other coverages depending on what you select.

Subject to the actual policy or bond form, its terms, limits, and exclusions.
- Liability for injury or damage you cause to others while operating covered vehicles.
- Physical damage (comprehensive and collision) for your own vehicles, if selected.
- Hired and non-owned auto liability for situations such as an employee running an errand in their own car, where available.
- Coverage for trailers and attached equipment, depending on how they are scheduled.
Keep in mind
- A personal auto policy does not automatically cover a truck used for business. Many personal policies limit or exclude business use, business-owned vehicles, or vehicles driven by employees.
- Tools and equipment stored in a vehicle are generally not covered by the auto policy; they are usually addressed by an inland marine or tools policy.
- Driver records, vehicle weight, radius of operation, and use are major underwriting factors.
Questions we'll review with you
- How many vehicles and trailers does the business own or lease?
- Who drives them, and are any drivers newly licensed or have recent violations?
- Are vehicles titled to the business or to individuals?
- How far do your vehicles typically travel from your garaging location?
Coverage availability, eligibility, limits, and pricing are subject to underwriting and policy terms. Requesting a quote does not bind coverage.
